The Monterrey Contingent is Headed to Austin

ScoutJam 2010 is truly going to be an international event when our good friends from Monterrey, Mexico arrive with their sizeable contingent. This group of 150 or more Scouts will include Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Venture Crew, adult leaders and other family members. Art Mata heads up a contingent planning and welcome committee to make sure these fellow Scouts and Scouters have a memorable experience here in Austin.

Planned tours include the Bob Bullock Museum and possibly Camp Mabry. Plans are for the contingent to travel light and be our guests for meals and stay in post-Jamboree tenting.

If you’re a patch collector bring something to trade!

Monterrey will participate with several Scout Midway exhibits, including a pioneering bridge, additional unique activities from their programs, and a booth showcasing the 2010 Capitol Area Council visit to their 100th Anniversary celebration in Monterrey. Our contingent was treated like kings and this October will be our opportunity to reciprocate with Texas Scouting hospitality.
