Have you ever wanted to build and launch your own model rocket? You can at Scoutjam 2010. Troops 441 and 157 will lead hands-on activities for scouts and same-age siblings to actually build and launch a model rocket.

Really Big Rockets
Exhibitors from the Ignite SystemsGo Aeroscience program of Fredericksburg will be showing off some really big rockets and telling us about rocket science.
Ignite is a program that teaches high school students to use advanced academic skills and the engineering process to build and launch rockets that travel faster than the speed of sound and fly as high 15 to 18 miles above the ground!

Buffalo Soldiers
The Buffalo Soldiers of Texas helped tame the western frontier as they fought in the Indian Wars campaign from 1866 to 1892. Learn how they helped shape our land. The Native American Indians of Texas had great respect for the fighting abilities of these black soldiers because of their strength and courage during battle. Educational programs led by TPWD emphasize our shared western heritage, including the 9th Cavalry Buffalo Soldiers, Vaqueros, Negro Cowboys, Frontier Women, Native Americans and other cultural groups in Texas during the 1800s.
