100 Years of Scouting is a lot to celebrate! We are very privileged to have the help of the Commemorative Air Force to make this a truly grand event. Turn your eyes to the sky at the right time to see a flyover of some incredible military aircraft, preserved and flown by a small number of dedicated volunteers. Taking you to new heights every day – the Boy Scouts of America.
BSA Air Programs
There's quite a bit of history with Scouting and Air Force-inspired programs. During World War II the Air Scouts were formed as a senior scout program for older boys. The program offered its own unique advancement options, with the Ace Award being perhaps the most challenging BSA award to earn ever (and one of the rarest). In 1949, Air Scouts became part of the Exploring program, and Air Explorers existed through 1965. Following that, in 1966, the Exploring program adopted an aviation specialty option.
