Because of limited camping space, the ScoutJam 2010 weekend camping requires Jamboree style, which involves a minimal footprint and Leave No Trace principles, rather than traditional car camping. There is no onsite water available. Troops, Varsity Teams, Sea Scout Ships, and Venturing Crews will be allowed to camp for the weekend. Packs and Cub Scouts cannot camp at ScoutJam 2010, but Webelos II Scouts (5th graders) with their adult guardian can camp with a Troop if sponsored as a guest.
Walk-ins with most of your gear may be involved and so we have elected to provide camping for Troops and older Scouts, plus Webelos II’s as guests of Troops. This won’t be the weekend to bring the smoker trailer. We don't expect Scouts to spend much time in campsites, though, because there is a lot to do every day. Troops will camp in District Sub-Camps. These will be organized later this year by the District Sub-Camp Chiefs and their staffs.
Our Cub program has double the membership of our older Scout programs so we have decided to request that Packs and Dens come for the day on Saturday. We do encourage Packs to stay for the arena show. They may eat with the concessionaire or bring their own picnic dinners.
